In the seven months to July, about sixteen stocks among the total basket of sugar companies have given returns of over 100 percent. Some of them have also hit their 52-week high.
Upper Ganges , true to its name, tops the list with returns of 512 percent in the period under question. Similarly, the profit after tax for these companies, have skyrocketed. In some cases, like Oudh Sugar Mills, the March quarter in 2016 saw an increase of 1396 percent from the year-ago period.
